Hello! my full name is Tonderayi Clive Chuma. I'm a passionate web developer with a knack for turning ideas into reality through code. My journey into web development began in my second year at University in 2020, While I was pursuing a Diploma in Networking and PC Engineering at Midlands State University (Zimbabwe). I Graduated in December 2022. I stumbled upon web development through a classmate of mine, who happened to have a friend who had offered to teach him web development (HTML and CSS). So he invited me and another friend of ours to accompany him on Wednesday's and Saturday's to learn web development.
I then developed a deeper curiosity about CSS and JavaScript. The thrill of building something from scratch and seeing it come to life on screen ignited fire in me that has only grown stronger. So after a close to 2 months, attending these lessons I stubled across Youtube Channels that tought better these technologies (HTML, CSS and JavaScript). And you guess it I then decided to leave the crew and start learning on my own via Youtube tutorials, after a period of time I then stumble across Platforms like Udemy and FreecodeCamp. And over the years, I have honed my skills in various programming languages and frameworks, continuously adapting to the ever-evolving tech landscape.
What motivates me the most is the opportunity to create user-friendly and visually appealing websites that provide meaningful experiences. I believe that great design complements functionality, and strive to strike that perfect balance in my work. My work ethic is rooted in diligence and passion for problem-solving. I approach each project with an open mind, embracing challenges as opportunities for growth. I am committed to delivering high-quality results on time, ensuring that every aspect of my meets industry standards and client expectations.
In terms of my Learning style, I am an advocate of hands-on experience. I enjoy diving into real-world projects and experimenting with new technologies. I constantly seek out online courses and coding websites to keep my skills sharp. Whether its through reading articles, watching tutorials, or engaging with th developer community, i am always eager to learn.
My first work experience as a web developer I got it, while I was on school attachment, I was hired as an IT Intern by a Company in Msasa, Harare, Zibmabwe (Primedawn Investment Pvt). And there I got exposed to PHP and WordPress, I also got exposed to web design and graphic design for the web. I learnt how to work in a team collaboratively. We used a tool called JIRA for our communition and report's or feedback on current project progression status.
In the year 2023, I got an opportunity to work for a Automotive Company in Howick, KZN, South Africa. where I got to hone a little more on my skills as web developer by building various projects for close friends and also started a DropShipping company with two friends. Used shopify twemplates for this website, but the idea did not go full on because of lack of commitment from other parties. But I do appriciate the experince. I also worked as a Automotive Technician, gaining skills in car diagnostics, how to use a diagnostics machine also how to remove and assemble a engine. I learnt a lot, not only about cars but also commication, the importance of doing your neetley, customer service and a lot more. Doing machanics gave a differnet eye when it comes to coding, the way I write code and approach my projects has changed by a margin, and my understanding of the importance of programming and the power it has to change life's and work experinces, made me approach programming as a problem solver not just a person who write code.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me. I look forward to collaborating with you and bringing your web projects to life!
